Personal

My dissertation at the University of Edinburgh (under the supervision of Mark Steedman) focused on explaining linguistic universals in syntactic extraction asymmetries and word order variation using the Combinatory Categorial Grammar formalism. My post-doctoral work on the Rosie project (with Alex Lascarides and Miles Osborne) focused on probabilistic models for parse selection, active learning for creating structured annotations, and generative probabilistic models of discourse structure. I also continued research on categorial grammar in collaboration with Geert-Jan Kruijff.
